Lots of attractive spice, berry and dried flowers on the nose on the nose with just a hint of fresh herbs. Full-bodied, with medium, round tannins and a fruity, herbal aftertaste. Slightly earthy. Best after 2006. - Feb 06 Issue

Medium Red. Aromas of dried fruits and graphite. Firmly build and adamantly dry, even a bit tough; dominated today by its structure. A much less fruity style than Rivetti's own La Spinetta wines. Best today on the firm, lingering finish.- (nov/dec. 04 Issue)
Ezio Cocito, the name behind the Cocito label, inherited the Baluchin vineyard in Nieve several years ago. With no experience in the wine industry, he turned to long time friend Giorgio Rivetti for advice. Rivetti, who bottles three award winning single vineyard Barbaresco, was the ideal consultant for vineyard management and he continued to support the project by extending the use of La Spinetta's winery and cellar for the production of Cocito's lovely Barbaresco. Baluchin is a tiny vineyard comprised of old vine growth situated at 900 feet with a southwest facing and steep 45-55 degree slope. Total production is only 4000 bottles.
