2006 Nebbiolo, Luna Matta Vineyard, Paso Robles - In Italy, the nebbiolo grape produces the wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. It is prized for its depth and complexity. Barolo is called, ôthe king of wine and the wine of kingsö. Our nebbiolo comes from a, south-facing, high elevation hillside vineyard located on the far west side of the Paso Robles appellation. This late ripening variety benefits from the warm Paso days giving the wine intensity, and the cool nights which help preserve freshness and acid. This vineyard is the first in California to work with new clonal material that arrived from Italy in just the last few years. The resulting wine has an abundance of red fruit, but also the complexity great Nebbiolo is famous for with aromas of tar, tea and rose-petal. 29 cases produced
