Winemakers Notes - Sangiovese is an Italian grape offering tremendous diversity. It produces everything from a simple refreshing Chianti to a profound and intense cellar-worthy Brunello di Montalcino. This Sangiovese uses grape clonal material commonly used by the top producers of Brunello di Montalcino. The resulting wine is rich and powerful, but still maintains balance and elegance. The classic flavors of dark cherry exist, but so too do spicy herbal elements hinting toward sage and rosemary. This wine is a classic match for Tuscan grilled meats such as Bisteca Fiorentina or pappardelle with a wild boar sauce. 124 cases produced
