Solid, with a core of dark plum and blackberry fruit backed by well-integrated, vanilla-tinged toast. The finish is round and flattering. Drink now. 10,000 cases made. ûJM OCT 2009 ISSUE
Nick's Pick - Good value! Dry, structured, slightly smokey in style. Pairs well with grilled, smoked, blackened and peppers meats!
The unoaked 2007 Melipal Malbec is dark ruby-colored with a nicely perfumed nose of spice box, violets, and black cherry. Supple, forward, and easy-going on the palate, the wine has a good core of sweet fruit, adequate structure, and moderate length. Drink this pleasant effort over the next 3 years.
