Nick's Pick! "Beat the heat with this refreshing, light white from Portugal. Broadbent takes pain-staking effort to baby this wine throughout its import and distribution and his delicacy is appreciated in the end result. Crisp citrus fruit with a slightly effervescent finish!" - Nick's Notes
"This is a true classic Vinho Verde. It is light in colour with a slight spritz from bubbles. On the nose it is refreshing, light and lively. On the palate, it has a slight spritz, it is light [only 9% alcohol] and delicious. It is very "more-ish", an English tasting term meaning that you want to drink more of it! In fact, it is so light, refreshing and easy to drink, it is good that it is low alcohol. The acidity is refreshing and the wine is great fun." - Winery Notes
"Vinho Verde is a pétillant Portuguese wine from the Minho region in the far north of the country. The name literally means "Green Wine", referring to its youthful freshness rather than its colour - in fact about 60% is white and 40% red[1], with a little rosé.
About 10% of production is exported, almost all white wine. The main export markets are France, the USA and Germany, followed by Angola, Canada and the UK.[2]
The region is characterised by many small growers. They used to send their grapes to 21 cooperative wineries, but more are now making wine themselves." - Definition by Wikipedia.org
