Turtle Rock Willow's Cuvee 2014

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

The Grenache in this blend was aged in a concrete vessel to preserve the beautiful red berry fruit. The remaining varietals were aged in new French oak for 22 months. The Syrah and Mourvedre had a light touch of whole cluster fermentation that adds a nice spicy note. We added the Tempranillo for color as well as a bit more structure in the mouth feel to balance the soft Grenache. Crushed dark cherries, light herbs, pepper spice. Enjoy now until 2026.

Wine AdvocateThe GSM blend of the estate is the 2014 Willows Cuvee, which is 46% Grenache, 34% Syrah, and 15% Mourvedre, with a tiny splash of Tempranillo. It's a terrific looking barrel sample that has loads of dark fruits, candied cherries and peppery herbs in an ultra-pure, polished and balanced package. It's not a massive wine, but the polish and purity here are rocking.

Wine SpectatorDense and brooding, but framed by rich, complex fruit. Aromas of currant and crushed stone lead to taut flavors of dark raspberry, white pepper and grilled herb. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Tempranillo. Best from 2018 through 2027. 185 cases made.
