Cordant Winery Wills Hills Grenache 2014

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

Dominated by strawberry rhubarb on the nose, and complemented by notes of cherry, vanilla and leather. Unmistakably grenache with strawberry and other red fruit up front balanced with bright acidity. Texture driven mid palate with round lush tannins yields to a lengthy finish.

Wine EnthusiastThis is not a dainty Grenache, with boysenberry syrup, purple flowers, vanilla, clove cream and Christmas spices redolent on the nose. It's rich on the palate, with blackberry syrup, baked blueberry and vanilla, but also reflective of the variety, with violet, clove, pepper and a touch of asphalt.

Wine AdvocateAnother outstanding wine from winemaker Tyler Russell is the 2014 Wills Hills, which is 100% dry farmed Grenache from Paso Robles that spent 18 months in new 500-liter French oak barrels. Impeccably made and medium to full-bodied, it has gorgeous notes of kirsch, strawberries, licorice and loamy, sandy, dried earth-like aromas and flavors. It has rock solid mid-palate depth (which can be lacking in most Grenache wines from California), fine tannin and will drink nicely through 2024.
