The Cass Estate Vineyard, located southeast of the town of Paso Robles, exemplifies the quality of the Paso Robles region with its warm days, cool coastal breezes, and exceptional soils. Resting at 900 feet of elevation, the 160-acre vineyard is planted to 11 varieties on a large terrace above the Huer Huero River. Wine EnthusiastThere's a slight bit of meaty funk, as can be expected from this grape, on the nose of this bottling, alongside red berries, graphite and a touch of herbs. The palate packs very dark, even black fruit along with a hint of marjoram-crusted roast beef, proving a tad sweet and quite acidic.

Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Mourvedre has lots of white pepper, cigar wrapper and jolly rancher notes in a racy, sweetly fruited style that has little to recommend.
