Ruby red in color, this wine opens with alluring aromas of fresh black raspberry, boysenberry and ripe red plum, swirling with hints of red licorice, fragrant cinnamon and vanilla crème brûlée. Enchanting and luscious, the palate opens with dark ripe cherry and juicy blackberry that join with suggestions of white pepper, fresh mint leaf and berry cola. The complex array of flavors lasts through the long finish, supported by polished tannins and integrated oak. Food Pairing: Expressive and elegant, this exceptionally food-friendly wine will pair delightfully with a variety of dishes, from grilled skirt steak with salsa verde, to pappardelle with rabbit ragout, to Turkish style lamb meatballs. For a memorable cheese course, try pairing this wine with Cantal, a semi-hard cow's milk cheese from the Rhône region of France.

Wine AdvocateThe bottled 2014s include the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, which is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot. A classic much in keeping with the vintage characteristics, this charmer is loaded with sweet black and red currant fruit, some spice box, earth, and subtle oak. It is up-front, irresistible, full-bodied and layered with fruit and glycerin. The finish displays sweet tannin and the wine can be drunk now or cellared between 15-20 years.

Wine EnthusiastThis is a silky-smooth and integrated wine, with firm, structured tannins that provide support without distracting. A wealth of brawny baked berry, tar and chocolate flavors reveal themselves over time, while subtle, deep clove and dried herb scents lie beneath.

Wine SpectatorSolid and well done, centered on a core of loamy earth, currant, clay and cedar flavors. Tightens on the finish, where the tannins are firm and grippy. Drink now through 2024. 15,650 cases made.
