Clayhouse Adobe Red 2013
Wine Advocate enjoyed the Côtes du Rhône-like 2012 Proprietary Red Adobe, which is 39% Petite Sirah, 34% Zinfandel and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Tempranillo and Malbec. This spent 12 months in oak, which I assume was mostly neutral, because there is not any vanillin or toast to be found. Peppery, earthy, meaty, slightly herbaceous notes jump from the glass of this wine, which offers up loads of kirsch and blacker fruits. It is round, juicy and a total hedonistic turn-on. Consume it over the next 1-2 years.
