Landmark Vineyards Overlook Pinot Noir 2014

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

On the nose, the wine is rich with molasses, cherry, spearmint, black tea, cranberry and plum. The palate features notes of gingerbread spice, red raspberry and grilled mushroom with a lengthy finish of mocha, black tea and forest floor. Suggested Food Pairings: The 2014 Overlook Pinot Noir will pair beautifully with roasted Chinese Five Spice duck breast, glazed with plum sauce or farro with braised chanterelle mushrooms.

Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Pinot Noir Overlook, the least expensive cuvée from Landmark, is a cross-county blend of 53% from Sonoma, 39% from Monterey and 8% from San Benito. This is a juicy, cherry-dominated, spicy, effusively fruity style of Pinot Noir that is medium-bodied and shows a touch of strawberries and spice. It is meant to be drunk in its exuberant first 3-4 years of youthfulness.

Wine EnthusiastThree appellations are called into service for this red, the majority from Sonoma and Monterey counties, with the remainder from tiny San Benito County. Together the fruit feels somewhat unformed while savory, a hodgepodge of red berry with a high-toned finish.

Wine SpectatorDirect and charmingly rustic, with enough acidity and tannins to give life to the modest berry and plum flavors. Drink now. 13,000 cases made.
