This vibrant, crisp, dry, refreshing and flavorful Sauvignon Blanc is terrific! Dominated by grapefruit notes, well balanced, smooth and vivacious. A sleeper from a young winemaker to watch, whom is relatively, new to the California scene but one who's career is skyrocketing. Bibiana Gonzalez Rave knew at age 14 that she wanted to make wine. She was born in Columbia, trained in France, moved to California in 2007 and is now married to Jeff Pisoni, son of Gary Pisoni, co-creator of Santa Lucia Highlands. Named Winemaker of the Year by the S.F. Chonicle (Dec, 2015), at which time she was the winemaker for Jayson and Wayfarer owned by Pahlmeyer. Offered the head winemaking job for Pahlmeyer in 2016, she opted to pass in an interest in focusing on raising her two children while nurturing her own two, well regarded labels both Cattleya and Alma de Cattleya. Bibiana is only 39 and will be on the scene for an entire career to come. She has selected the name Cattleya as it is the specific orchid that is the national flower of Columbia and it is particularly, challenging to grow making it one of the most beautiful and delicate orchids in the world.  - D'Arcy Barrett

Wine EnthusiastThis bottling is very pungent and sharp on the nose with fresh lime-skin aromas and hints of green papaya and wet cement. The bright tightly woven palate contains cut grass, lemongrass and more wet stone flavors.

Wine SpectatorNotes of dried chamomile and peppery white flowers mingle with dried orange peel accents up front in this medium-bodied white, featuring firmly juicy melon and citrus flavors that linger with a spicy edge. Drink now. 750 cases made.
